Unlocking the Benefits of Real Time Notification with API Integration | DeskAlerts

Different industries have different priorities and different needs. What you might need to quickly alert your employees to if you work in a manufacturing plant is going to be different to what a financial company needs to alert its employees to quickly.

For many companies, DeskAlerts is a great product that can be used straight out-of-the-box to improve internal communications and boost employee engagement.

It works by sending pop-up notifications straight to employee desktops, bypassing the email system, and appearing in a way on their screens that cannot be minimized, ignored or skipped.

Other features such as corporate wallpaper, screensavers, scrolling news tickers, newsletter, surveys, polls, quizzes and an innovative RSVP function really round this product out and make it a versatile tool that can enhance employee communications, letting you deliver internal communications campaigns with ease and sharing your key messages successfully.

But sometimes you might need the system to do more than that. And that’s completely achievable too.

DeskAlerts can be configured so that it integrates with other systems to meet virtually any business requirements. For an additional fee, the DeskAlerts team can customize an add-on that will integrate the software with any of your internal systems.

This will allow you to use several systems through the one interface, and use other software to trigger a DeskAlerts notification being sent.

When you combine real-time alerts with API integration, DeskAlerts becomes an even more powerful tool.

A real-time alert differs from regular DeskAlerts notifications by the time it takes for a message to be sent and received. In most environments, it takes between one and ten minutes to send DeskAlerts notifications. But with real-time alerts those messages can be sent and received in under a second.

It relies on underlying web socket technology that facilitates much higher message volumes from a single server but without allocating additional processing power.

When you combine both API integration and real-time alerts, you get the benefits of instant message delivery and automated message publishing without a person having to be the “middle man” in making that communication happen.

Alerts are generated automatically based on monitoring systems, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, incident management systems and so on. They are delivered instantly to the people who need to see them – eg: the people who can solve the problem and/or relevant managers who need to be accountable.

Another way it can be used is to enhance information security by automatically publishing alerts to employees’ desktops if company antivirus software has detected a threat. This way actions can be taken to prevent the spread of any infection.

These messages will be delivered instantly, in real time, so that swift action can be taken and valuable time saved.
